Why use rotators for your pages and banners?

If you have read my articles and MAIN BLOG POST, by now I really hope you have accepted that you MUST MUST MUST use splash or squeeze pages when advertising in traffic exchanges. If not, the please re-read them. I cannot emphasise enough how important this is!

So, that’s out of the way.

One thing you will come across as you sign up with the traffic exchanges is constantly having to enter in 3 or more URLS for your splash pages. This can become tedious – and what woill you need to do if they change? Go back and alter them all again. It’s a real pain.

One way round it, is to have your pages in a rotator. Most, but not all, traffic exchanges allow rotators (they will say clearly of they don’t) and I recommend you take advantage of them.

You can get rotators for both pages and banners, but not all do both (Hitsconnect does).

What’s really good about rotators is that you can chop and change your campaigns – track results to see which work – replace URLS if you want a change, or if a new one becomes available. For example, I have 1 rotator for my main biz, another for ‘funnel’ biz (to get leads), 1 for advertising my favourite traffic exchanges – and so-on. You don’t have to do it like this, you can work out what suits you and your business. Incidentally, today I even added a banner to one rotator for the 150th anniversary of Big Ben – nothign to do with business, but it only took a few seconds and will show wherever that rotator is listed.

There are several rotators out there, and many of the traffic exchanges even have their own which you can use, but here are some which I use. They are all free for basic level, or you can upgrade if you have a need to. I suggest you try them at free level first to get the hang of them. (I’ve just popped banners in here to keep it simple.)
